Mr. Giovanni Mikhail Gilis' Obituary
Giovanni Mikhail Gilis, 21, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021. Born September 7, 1999 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he was the son of Boris Gilis and Karrie J. Robb.
Giovanni was a great family man and loving father. He and his girlfriend, Sam Salgado, had one child (Gianna) who will forever be a huge piece of him here on earth. She will carry on his kind heart and give us the love we lost from him. Giovanni was a social, active young man who cared deeply for others. He was truly his brother’s keeper. He enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, roller blading, ice skating and being a jokester. Giovanni possessed a great sense of humor and loved being the center of attention. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving son, father and family oriented young man who was hard working and always looking for the next big thing. Giovanni wanted so much more out of life, unfortunately his was cut short and he will remain in our hearts for eternity.
He is survived by his mother Karrie Robb; father Bobby Gilis; daughter Gianna Gilis Salgado; stepfather Harvey Rosales; stepmother Johanda Woodward; brothers Dominique Robb, Deveroux Robb, Michael Rosales, Diego Rosales, and Gabriel Rosales; paternal grandmother Tatyana Gilis; maternal grandparents Cheryl and Larry Robb.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. Masks are required inside the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be Quentin Norfolk, Dominique Robb, Michael Rosales, Diego Rosales, Gabriel Rosales, Eli Robb, Christopher Robb, John “Tre” Culbertson III, and Noah White.
Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
