Gleendolla Ethridge's Obituary
We celebrate the beautiful life of Gleendolla Ethridge, born in Erin, TN, whose spark lit every room she entered. From her first days in Tennessee to her final moments in Hendersonville, TN, Pud filled 91 years with energy, kindness, and fun.
Gleendolla Ethridge, affectionately known as “Pud” passed away in her home October 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 19, 1934, in Erin, TN to Luther and Inis Parrish. She was the youngest of 10 children.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Floyd Ethridge, and son-in-law, Danny Swindle, and is survived by her children Shirlene Swindle and Rick (Kellie) Ethridge, 3 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Sports were her heartbeat. She played basketball in high school, swung a softball bat with ease, and cheered hard for the Atlanta Braves. An avid bowler, she kept rolling strikes in leagues until just three weeks ago, proving her competitive spirit never dimmed.
Pud’s drive on the lanes matched her values off them. Fiercely competitive yet grounded in fair play and complete honesty, she was also generous, supportive, kind, hardworking, and compassionate. Friends knew she would give the shirt off her back, all while keeping gatherings lively with her fiesty, fun-loving style.
Family holidays were her favorite stage. Thanksgiving feasts and especially Christmas meant joyful decorating, abundant food, and children’s laughter filling the house she adored. These traditions built lasting memories that her loved ones will carry forward.
Pud passed away surrounded by her loving family, leaving a legacy of spunk, fierce love, and an unwavering bond with sports and togetherness. Today, we hold onto the joy she shared and honor the game-winning life she lived so well.
