Ms. Glennara Clark Conyer's Obituary
Glennara Clark Conyer, age 98 of Madison, passed away at Azalea Trace Assisted Living. She was formerly at Maybelle Carter Retirement Community in Madison, Tennessee, her home for twenty-four years. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Roy Conyer, Jr., all her siblings, Louella Clark Jenkins, Isaac Campbell Clark and Jamie Clark Baggett, and parents, James Anthony and Glennara Campbell Clark.
Survived by twin daughters, Julie (John) McNaught and Joni (Basil) Pinker, grandson, James Nicholas, two sisters in law, Margaret Conyer Kemnetz and Lorene Conyer, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Conyer was an accountant, veteran's wife, and mostly a mom, spending her first two years of marriage traveling across country to work in Boston and San Francisco, near her husband's offshore assignments in the Navy during World War II.
They returned home to Nashville after the war where she worked as a Public Accountant and later owned automotive businesses with her husband for forty-four years. They retired to farming in their golden years in Greenbrier, Tennessee.
She volunteered for many years at Madison Church of Christ as well as supported Mr. Conyer's roles as Deacon and Children's Home Committee member at church, and she helped him manage their business while he was President of Tennessee Auto Salvage Association and later at their farm. After his death, she moved to Maybelle Carter Retirement Community where she volunteered on their Resident's Board and helped organize non denominational Sunday services in their building.
Funeral Services conducted by Paul Slate at Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nephews: Henry Baggett, Sam Baggett, Buddy Clark, Lou Delmazo, Billy Guthrie, John Jenkins, Trevor Conyer, Gregory Jestrab, Joe Pruett, Jr., Darrell Bailor, and Tommy Sprouse. Honorary Pallbearers: Elders and Deacons of Madison Church of Christ.
A graveside service will be held for Ms. Conyer on Tuesday, April 9th at 2 o clock in the afternoon at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, a Nashville landmark since 1785 “Where Nashville Comes to Remember”
