Ms. Glynna Dymple Franks' Obituary
Glynna Dymple Franks resided in Franklin, TN and formerly Nashville, TN. She was born in Walnut Grove, TN on September 11, 1923 and joined the church triumphant on October 20, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Lura Mangum Franks and Jesse Newton Franks, Sr. Her 11 siblings preceded her in death: Garnette Williams, Garald R. Franks, Don G. Franks, Alice Paulk, Ruth Garrett, Alma Warden, Charlie Y. Franks, Ruby Lynch, Thelma Lockhart, John B. Franks and Jesse Newton Franks, Jr. She is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Jane Crockett Franks of Franklin, TN. She was the beloved aunt of three generations of nieces and nephews, most of whom survive her, and many of whom she lived beside as a neighbor.
Dymple was a member of the West End United Methodist Church. After graduating from Peabody Demonstration School in 1940 she began her career at Nashville General Hospital and worked for 9 administrations during 37 years as the executive assistant to the Chief of the Metro Hospitals.
A woman of many talents, her sewing, baking, water coloring and paper doll making made her very special to her large family. She proudly served as the emergent seamstress/tailor for job interviews, school uniform altering and doll clothes from Santa. Her coveted deviled eggs were a staple at every family gathering as well as her pimento cheese and fried peach pies. Her family will cherish these and other special memories forever.
Services will be conducted at the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel by Brandon Baxter, Associate Pastor of West End United Methodist Church, 5110 Gallatin Pike S, Nashville, TN at 10:00 A. M. Thursday, October 28, 2021 with 1 hour visitation prior to the service. Interment to follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
