Grace Nayel Martinez's Obituary
We celebrate the beautiful life of Grace Nayel Martinez, a bright spirit who filled every day with color and song. Born on January 19th, 2018, Grace embraced the world with curiosity and courage.
She found joy in arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and music, often singing while she colored pages in every shade of pink and purple. School brought her smiles, especially math, and snack time was never complete without gummy worms, mashed potatoes, homemade pasta, or rice and beans. Grace always thought about the cookies and candies that her sister liked as well. Grace loved Bluey. She would match everything to the color of Bluey; from her having Bluey coloring books, different shirts, blanket, purse and even having blue boots to match all of her outfits. She was sazzy and outspoken. She would let the nurses know when she didn't like something or had questions about her treatment.
Grace was resilient, kind, creative, optimistic, and compassionate, qualities that shone through even the smallest moments. Her love for mermaids matched her own playful splash in life, showing others that imagination has no limits.
Her laughter and gentle spirit live on in her family: mother Sonyvette Diaz, father
Lucano Martinez, sisters Leilaniz I, Crousse H, and Sonnyeliz F. Martinez, grandmothers Francisca Martinez and Sonia I Gomez, and grandfathers Crescencio Martinez and Agapito Diaz. Together they carry the melodies she loved and the colors she shared.
While we miss Grace deeply, we choose to honor her by keeping our days bright, our songs loud, and our hearts open. May every stroke of a crayon and every note of music remind us of a little girl who showed what it means to live fully in just seven short years. The family would like to thank The Hospital Puerto Rico Women's and Children's Hospital and Dr. Guerra and Dr. Maribel Torres in Bayamon P.R.. Special thank you to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital and the entire team of Dr. Meguiar.
