Hazel Derryberry's Obituary
Hazel Pauline Jordan Derryberry, age 100, of Nashville, TN. Passed away on August 24, 2012. She will always be remembered for her passion for gardening, farming, arts and crafts, as well as for West Nashville history. Ms. Derryberry attended Richland Elementary School, followed by Central High School, then graduating from Bellevue High School. She is preceded in death by her husband W.L. Derryberry; parents John P. and Emma Sawyer Jordan, 3 infant brothers, brother, Jullian P. Jordan (Jewel). She is survived by her loving niece Mary-Margarette Jordan; great-niece, Allison Shaw (Toye Heape); great-nephew Jim Shaw (Maha); 6 great-great-nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great-great- nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her devoted dog Timmy and cow Whitey. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 12-2pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home, and a graveside ceremony will be conducted on Tuesday at 2pm following the visitation in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
