Mrs. Hazel Lee Miles' Obituary
Hazel Lee Miles departed this earth February 24, 2014. She was eighty four years young.
She was born May 31, 1929 in Fredonia, Kentucky to Ambie and Thomas Fuller. She was the youngest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond David Cannon, Jr. They were married for thirty years.
She is survived by her second husband, Rev. Dr. Bill Miles. They were married for twenty four wonderful years. She is also survived by her two children, Raymond David Cannon and Darlene Duncan, and also her five grandchildren, Nathan Cannon, Brian Duncan, Holly Cannon-Hesse, Dana Biggs, and Steven Duncan. She was also a great-grandmother of seven.
Hazel was deeply faithful and very involved in the church. She loved to spend time with her family and loved to celebrate the holidays. After her children left the nest, she found love in two precious cats, Prissy and Baby Doll. She worked in the Metro School system for twenty years and specialized in working with children with special needs. She was a hard working woman; holding up to three jobs at one time. She was a sassy lady with a heart of gold. She will be deeply missed by her family and her church. Her favorite verse from the Bible was 1 John Chapter 3 Verse 1, "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God. And that is what we are!"
Visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 4-9 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. Active pallbearers will include;
Steve Duncan, Nathan Cannon, Pat Nolan, Bill Hoover,Jay Hess Brian Duncan, Peyton Biggs, Chuck Porter and Mike Miles. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home, Nashville.
