Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Cook's Obituary
Helen Cook, 94, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Hendersonville. Born August 17, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Stege and Josephine Sommers Stege.
When Helen was a younger woman she worked as a secretary for Blue Cross in St. Louis, Missouri. She would eventually become a homemaker, and perfect it as a wonderful wife and mother. Helen was a faithful Christian and had been a member of Dalewood Baptist Church since 1963. She was a champion knitter who had won ribbons at the Tennessee State Fair 10 consecutive years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Medford Cook; daughter Susan Elizabeth Cook; brothers Robert, Ralph Jr., and Earl.
She is survived by her son Brian (Peggy) Cook; grandchildren Austin (Angie) Cook, Bailey Cook and Conner Cook; and great grandchild Mick Cook.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 20 from 10 am until 12 pm noon at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A graveside service with Mike Dawson officiating will follow at 12 pm noon in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery where Helen will be laid to rest alongside her husband and daughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Dalewood Baptist Church 1586 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN 37216.
