D Gene, so sorry! I saw the notice in the Johnson City paper this morning. Helen was quite a lady. I remember, well, the many occasions we met and how charming and engaging she always was. I always suspected she was the major factor in your success.
Please accept my condolences. I know exactly where you are.
Helen was the closest of friends to my dear wife, Mooie, who passed away in 2010. They were sorority sisters and kindred spirits, sharing views on social, political and family issues. We all enjoyed many good times together. I will miss Helen's friendship dearly. I send my love and deepest condolences to Gene and his family. Lee Ellis, III
My mother, Sarah Ellen Winn Terry, was a life long friend of Helen Erle. In high school they were part of the Big 5 and they all kept in touch with each other for decades. When they all ended up in the middle Tennessee area, they got together on a regular basis. Helen Erle was always so glamorous to me and had the most wonderful laugh. A very special lady.
Sending deepest sympathy and wishing you peace and comfort. Words cannot express the deep sorrow that is felt by so many people.
May these scriptures give you comfort; John 11:11-25
Our thoughts are with you.
