Helen Jeter's Obituary
Helen Jeter, age 85 of Nashville, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Nashville. Mrs. Jeter was born September 7, 1926 in Washington County, IL to August Henry and Helene Maria Schultz Recker. She grew up in IL before moving to St. Louis, where she attended a secretary school and later met her future husband, Robert. She worked as a secretary but will be remembered for her work as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served with the Cumberland Presbyterian Women. She volunteered as a church secretary at Inglewood Presbyterian Church, for over 20 years with the East Nashville Cooperative Ministry and with the American Diabetes Association. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roland Recker. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Jeter; daughters, Sandra (Teryal) Littleton and Kathy (Kevin) Murphy; son, Richard (Vickie) Jeter; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
