Helen Dorothy Shaw Madden's Obituary
Helen Dorothy (Shaw) Madden passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025 in Nashville,
Tennessee with her devoted husband by her side.
Born in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania, Helen was the daughter of the late
Marshall Shaw Sr. and Edna (Mellott) Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Shaw.
Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, James H. Madden, and their daughter, Brenda L. Madden. She also leaves behind her sister, Shirley Mitchell; brother, Marshall Shaw Jr., and many dear nieces and nephews.
Helen and James were married on December 24, 1960 by Reverend Charlies Rhodes in the EUB Church of Three Springs, Pennsylvania. Their love and devotion to each other were a true example of faith and commitment.
Helen's life was filled with kindness, faith, and a love for family. She enjoyed cooking, visiting with loved ones, and attending church. She was a faithful follower of Christ and found joy in serving Him throughout her life.
After moving to Nashville in 2014 to be closer to Brenda, Helen remained closely connected to her roots in Pennsylvania while embracing new friendships and her church family at Nolensville Road Baptist Church.
Helen's unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and love for others will remain a lasting legacy to all who knew her.
