Mrs. Helen Martin's Obituary
Helen F. Martin, age 91, of Nashville, Tennessee, Passed away on March 30, 2018. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Maggie Gregory, step-mother Thelma Gregory,
her husband of forty-seven years, James William “Bill” Martin, granddaughter, Shelby Schow;
and siblings Vernon Gregory, Jane Holleran, Petey Gregory, Martha Pedrick, and James
Madden. Survived by her four children:Deborah Rollins (Chip), Michael “Mike” Martin (Marjorie),
James “Jim” Martin (Melanie), Kim Schow (David), and eight grandchildren: Ashley Martin, Sara
Freeman (Bobby), Heather Jacobs (Tom), Daniel Martin (Chelsea), Jordan Martin, Mitchell
Martin, Tori Schow, Cassidy Schow and seven great-grandchildren: Caleb Fuqua, Bella
Freeman, Nicholas Freeman, Jackson, Caroline, and Claire Jacobs, and Ella Martin. Survived
by one brother, Donald Gregory (Pat) of Franklin, Tennessee and brother-in-law Ted Holleran
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was
a Christian woman and a member of Jackson Park church of Christ. She looked forward to
worship and being with family and friends. She enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels from her
church for many years. In addition to spending time with family, she enjoyed her flower
gardens. Many hours were spent planting and weeding. The results were proof of her diligence.
Helen will truly be missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated caregivers at The Waterford in Hermitage, the nurses
and entire staff at Hickory Hills Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Hendersonville, Avalon
Hospice nurse Kandi and her personal physician for many years, Dr. Lee Fentriss.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape, Nashville Inner City Ministry,
World Christian Broadcasting, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 12pm with an hour of visitation prior.
