Mr. Henry Eugene Hooper's Obituary
Mr. Henry Eugene Hooper, age 76 of Lavergne, Tennessee passed away at his home from natural causes on June 26, 2021. He was born in Nashville on August 9, 1944. He grew up in East Nashville and joined the US Navy, where he spent his time aboard the USS Dolphin as a Torpedo Man soon after graduating from Hume Fogg High School. He went into the carpet business and was well known in the flooring industry as part owner of Hooper-Putman Carpets for many years. He was also an avid golfer and loved spending time at Shelby Golf Course.
Henry Hooper is survived by four children that he helped raise and loved as his own: Randy Brewer, William Brewer (Priscilla), Melissa Critz (John), and Shelley Hooper Hazelwood, sister Alice Brewington (Howard), and a host of grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Thelma and Bruce, and brother Johnny.
Mr. Hooper will be laid to rest in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery following presentation of full Navy Honors on Monday July 5, 2021 at 10am. Those wishing to attend may meet at Spring Hill Funeral Home and 9:45am to process together to the grave site.
