Herman Thomas Layne's Obituary
Herman Thomas Layne, age 90 passed away April 17, 2012. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Christine Hastings Layne, sons Bruce Thomas Layne and Kenneth E. Layne. He is survived by his sons Roy Dale Layne and Dennis Ray Layne; grandchildren Kimberly Allen (Aaron), Tonya Layne, and Jason Layne (Brandi); great-grandchildren Ryleigh Layne, Christopher, Daniel and Bethany Allen, Richard, Kain, and Addie Ford. Mr. Layne was a member of Dalewood Baptist Church; the Al Menah Shrine Temple and the Edgefield Masonic Lodge #254. In addition to being a family man, Herman was a truck driver with Yellow Freight for many years and loved to hunt, fish, and gardening. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Wampler officiating. Family will serve as active pallbearers and the Barkley Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, 4:00-8:00 p.m. with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101.
