Mr. Homer Edward Chance's Obituary
Homer Edward Chance age 88 of Hendersonville passed away Tuesday March 29, 2016. Born December 15, 1927 he was the son of the late Elvin C. and Linda Medlin Chance. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Evelyn Mason and Joy McMahon and his brother; Ron Chance.
Mr. Chance is survived by his wife of 69 years; Margaret Chance, son Randy (Ava) Chance, daughters; Pam (Corky) Howard, Deb (LJ) Mix, and one sister; Nancy (Tippie) Burroughs. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Bryan (Cayce) Chance, Brent (Jennifer) Chance, Holly (Mac) Hurley, Mitsi (Keith) Lindsay, Anita (Travis) Simpson, Daren (Rachel) Phillips, Dennis (Anna) Phillips and great-grandchildren; Bo, Hutson, Mary Harbin, Steele, Crew, West, Easton, Gracen, Cole, Alli, Charlie, McHaney Alba, Sadie, and Sawyer.
Mr. Chance was a member of City Road Methodist Church for over 70 years. He worked at 1st American Bank for 15 years, owner of Rebel Reality presently known as The Capital Corporation. He worked in and for the community of Madison all of his life. His passion was hunting and fishing.
Mr. Chance was one of the 1st Magistrate’s of Metro Government. He was honored with the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Madison Chamber of Commerce and was past president. He was also a member of Madison Big Brothers, Madison Hillbilly Days. He was The Past President of The Hayes Sunday School Class at City Road Methodist Church. He was a member of The Tennessee Ten Hunting Club. He set up many hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. He and Margaret traveled all over the world together
Visitation will be 5:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Donna Parrarmore and Reverend Jay Voorhees officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Pallbearers will be Daren Phillips, Dennis Phillips, Bryan Chance, Brent Chance, Keith Lindsay, Travis Simpson, and Ray Aaron. Honorary pallbearers will be the Living Word Class at City Road Methodist Church, all of his hunting and fishing buddies, Dr. Robert Pilkinton, and his care givers; Angela, Sonja, Winnie, Ray, and Sandi. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. 615-865-1101.
