Homer Chester Hibdon Jr.'s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Homer Chester Hibdon, Jr. on December 15th, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Homer was born on January 16th, 1950, in Nashville to Homer Chester Hibdon, Sr. and Alberta Mae Crosline Hibdon. He was beloved in every way, and was the purest and kindest soul you could meet. He had a heart of gold and served the Lord in all facets of his life. If he wasn’t serving his church or his community, he was cheering on his favorite team, the Vols (GO BIG ORANGE!). His legacy will live on in the lives of those he loved and cherished.
Homer is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Melba Joy Hibdon; daughter Kristi (Jason) Marlin; sisters Brenda (Lonnie) Bowman of Chestnut Mound, Tennessee and Carolyn Honeycutt of Baxter, Tennessee; brother Claude (Linda) Smith of Fairview, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family cordially invites guests and relatives to join them for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, from ten o’clock in the morning until the time of the funeral service at twelve o’clock noon at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. Nephew Brian Honeycutt will preside over the service. Homer will be laid to rest at Hudgins Cemetery in Fairview, Tennessee following the funeral ceremony; those wishing to attend are to follow our staff in procession at the conclusion of the services at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Final arrangements for Mr. Hibdon, Jr. are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
