Mr. Houston Ray Wilson's Obituary
Age 96, passed away on March 10, 2018. Preceded in death by parents, Turner and Una Brown Wilson; brothers, F.E. Wilson, Bob Wilson (and his wife, Rose Marilyn), and Mac Wilson.
Survived by loving wife, Carolyn Lee Wilson; daughters, Celeste Faye (Allen) Tuten and Cecelia Kaye (Rick) Camp, and Kimberly Russell; son, Todd Kemper; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Ann Wilson and Charlie Wilson; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
WWII U.S. Army Veteran, Amoco Service Station Business Owner, avid fisherman, and past member of Dalewood Baptist Church might all be titles used to describe who Ray was to those who knew him, but his family will always remember him as a generous and kind Christian man who loved to do for others with no expectations in return. He will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 4-8pm, and again on Thursday from 9am until the time of service at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Those serving as Active Pallbearers include, Mike Davis, Ken Davis, Devin Gore, H.T. Wilson, Bracey Halbrook, Richard Camp, and Allen Tuten; and Todd Kemper will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to The Pat Summitt Foundation in Ray's honor; and they would also like to give a special thanks to Crista Griffin who selflessly cared for Ray while he was in ICU at Northcrest Medical Center.
