Mr. Howard Austin Birchett's Obituary
Howard Austin “Big Daddy” Birchett age 83 of Nashville, TN passed away on July 6, 2017 in Davidson County. He is preceded in death by his wives, Janie Mai Brown Birchett, Maymie Ruth Robinson Birchett; parents, Joseph Elijah Birchett, Georgia Louise Sweeney Birchett; daughter, Rebecca Leigh Stafford; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Shepherd.
He is survived by daughters, Eleanor Louise (Freeman) Key, Nancy Laverne (Grover) Dement, Janice Lanette Dyce (Russell), Elizabeth Lorraine (Paul) Odum; Kenneth Ray Robinson; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Howard was a truck driver and in the 60’s a race car driver. He was a family man who adored time with his girls and grandchildren. Howard loved old westerns and football. He was a collector of numerous things such as, ink pens and watches. Howard loved his furry, four-legged companion, Taco. He loved to tinker on his vehicles and watched NASCAR religiously. Howard was a special man who touched the lives of so many, he will truly be missed.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 10, 2017 from 4-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral home. A celebration of life funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 2pm with visitation from 9am-2pm prior.
