Howard T. Green's Obituary
Howard Thomas Green, 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Born May 5, 1938 in, in Columbia, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Howard Ray Green and Verda Mae Click Green.
Howard served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. During this time, he married the lovely Annie Marie Caldwell on August 1st, 1958. Following his military service, Howard went on to have a 50 year career as a diesel mechanic. He was a deacon at Broadmoor Baptist Church. There he enjoyed singing and sharing testimony about Jesus. Being a giving, protecting and loving man, he took it upon himself to be a mentor to several area youth. He was a hard worker and always sure that his family had what it needed. He extended his brotherly love to his in-laws and was a friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Donald, Pete and David Green.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Annie Green; children Christopher (Serafina) Green, Olivia (Jackie) Moore, Daniel (Frances) Green, and Angela Shackleford; brothers Joe, Jerry and Gerald Green; sister Linda Hosse; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville from 10 am until 12 pm noon. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will take place at noon. Burial will follow in the Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery at Pegram.
