Mr. Howard Kent's Obituary
Howard Kent, 91, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. Born May 20, 1931, in Lakeland, Georgia, he was the son of the late Johnny Kent and Fannie Harrell Kent.
Mr. Kent served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Inglewood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Howard retired from Ford Glass plant after 40 plus years of service and was known as “The Iron Man of Ford” for not missing a day of work. He was a member of the Ionic Masonic Lodge #254, the Al Menah Shrine, the Eastern star, and was a Scottish Rite Mason and DeMolay Advisor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Howard Alan Kent; six sisters; and one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Reba Trotman Kent; daughters Claudia (John) Kent Whitaker and Annette Kent; son David (Lori) Kent; grandchildren Austin (Rachel) Whitaker, M.D., Whitney (Bryan) Mahan, and Chase Fehland; great grandchildren Anderson Whitaker and Caroline Whitaker; brother J.M. (Valerie) Kent; sister Evelyn (Richard) Beard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, from 4 PM until 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville with a Masonic Service being conducted at 7 PM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 AM officiated by Reverend Bill Jones. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
