Ms. Ida Lee West Gilliam's Obituary
Ida Lee West Gilliam, age 90, of Nashville passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015. She was born May 23, 1924 in Stonewall, TN to the late John Fite and Freda (McDonald) Scruggs. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Gilliam and sister, Erline James.
Ida Lee loved traveling, reading, playing cards and sports of all kinds. She was a longtime member of Dalewood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Gordon West (Debbie) and Darrell West (Debbie); step-daughter, Karen Gilliam Bramen (Howard); brother, Joe Scruggs; Sister-in-law, Marie West Estes (Morris); nieces and nephews, Peggy Lewis, Mary Sue LaCroix, Barry Scruggs, Tammy Scruggs White, Jimmy Scruggs, Patty Estes Winchester and Reid Estes; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, May 18th at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Dalewood United Methodist Church. She will lie-in-state at the church from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time. Interment will follow at Gordonsville Cemetery in Gordonsville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dalewood United Methodist Church, 2300 Ridgecrest Dr. Nashville, TN 37216.
