Inez Marlin's Obituary
She grew up in Akron, Ohio. At the age of 9 she was invited to attend a revival by a teenager in the neighborhood. The church was Arlington Street Church of the Nazarene. At that revival she was saved and later joined the church. When a young adult she met Ben Marlin at that church and they later married (1939). Sharron her first daughter was born in 1941. Later because of job transfer the family moved to Houston, Texas. Another daughter was born to them in 1944 named Roslyn. Ben Marlin felt the call of God on his life to preach, and Inez accepted the call too. She was the minister's wife and partner as they served in 13 churches in Texas and Florida. She was an evangelist's wife for 8 years and a District Superintendent's wife for 4 years. Inez took her role very seriously. The Marlins truly followed the Great Commission to reach as many for Christ as they could. Inez was known as the little woman of prayer. Inez has two daughters, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren of whom she is very proud. She was so happy knowing that all of her family are involved in ministry at their different churches. She has given to them a rich heritage. Ben, her husband of 64 years, went to be with the Lord in 2003. Now Inez has joined him and they are both with Jesus that they loved so much. Today we celebrate her going home. Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 5-8PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 12 Noon till service time at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Old Hickory Church of the Nazarene, 605 Jones St. Old Hickory, TN 37138.
