Mrs. Iva E. Massey's Obituary
Mrs. Iva E. Massey went to be with The Lord February 02, 2020, just shy of her 86th birthday. She was born on February 21, 1934 in Waverly, TN.
Preceded in death by her husband of 63 ½ years, William Nathan Massey, Sr.; daughter Linda Nadine Dickey and son-in-law Mike Orrick. She is survived by daughter Kathy Orrick; son Nathan Massey, Jr. (Debbie); son-in-law John Dickey; grandchildren Charles Alan Jackson, Brian Biggs (Dorinda), Jennifer Gregory (Kyle), Sonny Hunter; 8 great-grandchildren; devoted caregivers: Tanya Dennis, Garrie Ann White and Kim Bluing.
Mrs. Iva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She retired from Metro Schools. She loved children and enjoyed working in the church nurseries throughout the years. She was the true definition of the virtuous woman referenced in Proverbs 31. She was an encouragement to others and overcame breast cancer 23 years ago. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and all that knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. John Murray and Bro. David Royalty officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101, www.springhillfh.com.
