James Anthony "Tony" Lyons' Obituary
James Anthony “Tony” Lyons, age 68, passed away on July 20, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents, Hillman and Wilmuth Lyons. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Siobhan Maria Lyons and daughter Sara Lyons. Tony served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. When Tony returned home, he worked as a Studio Engineer then went on to become an on air personality for WSM Radio and Television, announcing for the Grand Ole Opry and for WSIX Radio. After working with music, radio and television, Tony owned and operated Mulligans Pub for 22 years. The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joe McMahon officiating. Active pallbearers will be David Diaz-Barriga, Billy Hynd, Jerry Matthews, Sean McNamara, John Rafter, Matthew Smith, Damon Spiceland, and Michael Venters. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9:00-9:45 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Over the last eight months, St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph School, and St. Cecilia Academy have showered Tony’s family with overwhelming love and support.
