Mr. James Bain's Obituary
James Madison Bain, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at The Signature Health Care Center of Erin. James was born on December 21, 1925 in Carthage, TN.
Mr. Bain served his country in the US Navy; his job was to make repairs to aircraft returning from combat missions, order parts for and maintain Navy airplanes. During his service in the Navy, Lt. Bain received eight battle stars, the American Area Campaign and Navy Good Conduct Medals.
Mr. Bain was the general manager at Tennessee Motor Lines in Nashville; he held several job positions until his retirement in 1992, and was known as a successful businessman. He enjoyed watching westerns as well as reading books about cowboys and the Revolutionary War.
In addition to his mother, Julia Kemp, he is preceded in death by his wife, Imogene (Wimbs) Bain; and his daughter, Melinda Bain.
Mr. Bain is survived by his son, Jonathan Bain; brother, Ralph and wife, Doris Bain; he is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at Spring Hill Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
