James Bruce Scott, Sr.'s Obituary
James Bruce Scott, Sr., age 78 of Nashville, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Scott was born July 3, 1933 in Celina, TN to Cordie Homer and Dollie Aline Thompson Scott. He grew up in Nashville before joining the U.S. Navy in 1952. After serving his country, he worked most of his life as a truck driver and retired from Yellow Freight after 44 years. He enjoyed yard-work and gardening and will be remembered as soft-spoken and funny. He was a member of the American Legion and the Teamsters Union. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Scott; daughter, Cindy Scott; sons, James Bruce Scott, Jr., Tony Scott and Jay Scott; sister, Millie Hunt; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Scott’s life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 9, 2012 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 and from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
