James Farris Hopkins' Obituary
HOPKINS, James Farris Age 77 years, of Hermitage, passed away August 19, 2009. Mr. Hopkins was born August 2, 1932 in Rector, Arkansas. He was a retired CPA, and Disciples of Christ Christian Church Minister, serving at both Madison and Donelson Christian Church. Mr. Hopkins served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, of Nashville, TN. He was a graduate of Wingo High School in Wingo, KY; received his BA, from Murray State College, and his MBA from MTSU. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ollie Cope Hopkins; former wife, Joyce Breedlove Hopkins; son, Dennis Hopkins. Survived by wife, Rebecca Bates Caplenor Hopkins; sons, Christopher (Teri) Hopkins; Michael (Katie) Caplenor; Trey (Tamra) Caplenor; grandchildren, Shannon Hopkins Spreng, Christina Hopkins Walker, Maxwell Caplenor, Alexander Caplenor; great grandchildren, Sebastian Shirk, Kaelee Spreng, MacKenzie Walker, James Walker; sister, Peggy Hopkins Armbruster, of Clinton, KY. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 22, 2009, from the chapel of the Spring Hill Funeral Home with Ed Evans officiating. Interment to follow in historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Brandon Morgan, Fred Tucker, Billy Spreng, Ric Gatling, Kenneth Sadler, Nick Walker, Daniel Sadler, and Ron Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Marine Corp League, Nashville, TN; John Grayson, Art Rietz, Sid Howell, Ken Sadler, and Esco McBay. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to the American Lung Association or the Charity of your choice. Visitation with the Hopkins family will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8PM, and on Saturday from 10AM until service time in the Magnolia Room of the SPRING HILL FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 5110 Gallatin Road
