James "Gus" Vargason's Obituary
James Augustine “Gus” Vargason, age 14 of Nashville, passed away November 13, 2011 after a long, courageous battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Gus was born March 5, 1997 in Nashville, TN to Brett and Maria Vargason. He loved history, listening to jazz music and anything Apple made. He enjoyed going out to eat, especially at Demo’s, was a fan of Transformers and enjoyed building with Lego’s. He attended City Church of East Nashville. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thomas Partain and Charles Barnes. He is survived by his parents; his siblings, Victor Ambrose Vargason, Amelia Greer Vargason and Thomas Anselm Vargason; grandparents, Rosalee Barnes, Victor and Sandra Vargason. Funeral service and celebration of Gus’ life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from the Eastwood Christian Church. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Memorial contributions should be made to the Gus Vargason Fund, in care of Regions Bank.
