Mr. James Hester's Obituary
James Foy Hester, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 in Nashville. James was born in Vina, Alabama on March 14, 1934 to the late James Auburn Hester and Flora (Wooden) Hester.
Mr. Hester loved God’s creation and enjoyed everything outdoors from gardening to taking care of flowers. He loved Christmas time and spending time with his family. He can be remembered as a man of God and a great dad. He was a member of the Shelby Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Hester.
Mr. Hester is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Alene (Woods) Hester; three daughters, Mary Cowley (Eddie), Eathel Jackson, and Candy Hester; one son, Jimmy Hester; two brothers, Curtis Hester and Roy Lee Hester; two grandchildren, Joshua Parker (Krystle Lambert) and his children, Isaiah Lambert Parker and Alyssa Morgan and Chris Carter, Sr. (Denise) and his children, Christopher Carter, Jr. and Cursti Carter. He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4-9 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 12-2 pm with a celebration of life service to follow at 2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
