Mr. James Hornal's Obituary
James Colin Hornal, age 93, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Medical City Hospital in Plano, Texas. James was born on June 16, 1926 in White Bluff, Tennessee.
James graduated from Dupont High School in Old Hickory and played football on the school team. He graduated and went to serve his country as a United States Marine in World War II. He retired from the State of Tennessee as a Law Enforcement Officer and for many years served as Live Stock Supervisor at the Tennessee State Fair. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife and nature. He enjoyed walking his dog, reading, shopping, listening to music, watching college football and spending time with his grandchildren most of all. His family was his life, especially his grand-children and great grand-children. He enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could telling his stories, taking them out to eat, buying them new shoes, hunting and fishing with them, attending their activities, helping with homework and driving them to school and activities. The pride and joy he had watching them grow up.
James is preceded in death by his son James R. Hornal, Bowling Green, KY; his mother and father, George Wright and Catherine Hornal, Old Hickory, TN; his brother Clyde W. Hornal, Wasilla, Alaska. He is survived by his daughter Rose Mary Harmount husband Rusty, Plano, TX; Daughter-in-law Rebecca Hornal Hunt, Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, John Scott Thacker, James Blake Hornal wife Tara, John Bradley Hornal, Jennie Rebecca Eakles husband Todd; and great-grandchildren, Kristopher Eakles, Truman Harmount, Chance Tschaekofske, Hayden and Caleb Juett. Brother George W. Hornal, Jr. and wife Edith, Goodlettsville, TN.
