James Dorris "Bubba" Hunt Jr.'s Obituary
James Dorris “Bubba” Hunt, Jr., 63, of White House, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. Born January 4, 1960, in Nashville, he was the son of the late James Dorris Hunt, Sr. and Sandra Ruth Cox Hunt.
He attended Maplewood High School. Bubba served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for years at Metro Water and retired in 2000. He started his own lawn care business and was self employed for over 20 years. 2023 was the year he was scaling back and sliding into retirement.
Bubba and Tracy would have been married 24 years in August. They loved each other better and more every day.
Bub loved being outside for work and play. Golfing with buddies, fishing with family and spending time on the beach.
Bubba was a great neighbor. He kept a watchful eye on things from his back porch with southern rock blaring. He was always ready to lend a hand (or a tool) if needed.
He enjoyed his football teams, even in an off year or off years. Go Vols – Titan Up!
He is survived by his loving wife Tracy Hunt; children J.W. Ulrich, Christopher Ezelle, and Sydney Ezelle; sister Terri (Teddy) Wenger; brother Timothy Hunt and Patrick (Teresa) Hunt; many precious cousins, nephews, nieces and numerous friends.
His friends are family. Little Bubba, Timmy, Chris, Bobby, Shannon, Derek, Josh, Pat and too many more to name. Bubba knew everyone and everyone loved Bubba. He couldn’t go anywhere without running into a friend.
More than anything, he loved his family. Daily talks with Terri, calling Teddy for advice and venting to James (Jimmy). Throwing punches with Tim. He was so proud of his little brother, Pat, and all that he has accomplished at the Fire Hall. He was a rock for Sydney and Christopher, the person they could go to when they needed anything. Nothing was too big or too small. His kids could count on him. He was so proud of his nieces and nephews and the adults they have become. And nothing made him happier than their children running to him… calling out “Uncle Bubba! Uncle Bubba!”
He will be missed by many, but his darling bride will miss him the most. WE LOVE YOU BUBBA!!!
A Celebration of Bubba’s Life will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Monday, April 17, from 4 pm until 8 pm.
