Mr. James "Jimmy" Rothwell's Obituary
James “Jimmy” Rothwell, age 60, of Springfield, passed away on November 28, 2014. Jimmy was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 10, 1954 to Luther and Kathleen Rothwell. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. His family recalls that his best asset was his sense of humor, a dry wit that he passed down to his sons, Cody and Chris.
Jimmy also loved the outdoors. Never did he feel more at home and at peace than when he was in the Great Smoky Mountains. He was a member of the Cades Cove Preservation Association, and was an avid backpacker, camper, and bicyclist. One of his proudest achievements was earning his pilot’s license, and he took to the skies as easily as he took to the trails. Above all else, Jimmy enjoyed life with his loving family.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl Rothwell; mother, Kathleen Rothwell; sons, Cody (Jennifer) Rothwell and Chris Rothwell; sisters, Joan (Roger) Craven and Kathy (Jerry) Miller; brother, Danny (Deanna) Rothwell; and grandchildren, Lyndsey, Andrew, Austin, and Addison.
Jimmy’s family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 12pm until 2pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Ferrell will lead a Celebration of Life Service to honor Jimmy following visitation, at 2pm from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37216. (615)865-1101 www.springhillfh.com
