As an alumnae of NHS (class of '73), I am saddened to hear that Mr. (Coach) Nollner is no longer with us. He taught Health at NHS, which was one of my best subjects. I believe that the Lord assigned him as my teacher, which lead me to a career in the health field. May the Lord give comfort and peace to his family.
Coach Nollner is a legend. I could never beat his teams at Whites Creek in my HS career but I respected him greatly. He was also my drivers ed teacher and his lovely wife Mary taught me and ended up teaching my younger brother. Love and respect to his family.
He was my teacher in 2003 he always motivated me to always do better in life and he was a nice man r.i.p coach nollner
I visited Coach a few weeks ago. He was alert and said, " Boo Dale." Coach was a great track coach and a greater person. I will never forget him. Prayers for his wife and family. RIP Coach!

We lived next door to the Nollners for many years on Mansker in Madison. What a wonderful family! Jim was definitely a person to be reckoned with when it came to high school basketball. He was a coach in high school 20 years ago, and one of the greatest lessons Coach Nollner ever taught was about consent in my health and wellness class. He made us girls feel empowered with our ‘no’ and he tried his best to impart the power of that ‘no’ to the boys, which in a school like Whites Creek was important. I will never forget that moment when a teacher and coach made me feel like I, a dweeby little high school sophomore, had power over my own body. Thanks, Coach. RIP.
The family is in my prayers. I was glad to visit Coach a couple of weeks ago. Rest In Peace my friend and former coworker.
