He dedicated 57 years to the Masonic Lodge, 45 years to the Al Menah Clown Unit, and 34 years of service to the Metro Nashville Airport Authority before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil Wallace Parnell, Sr. and Helen L. "Honey" Yates Parnell; his brother, Neil Wallace Parnell, Jr., and sisters, Mildred Hopwood and Nina Sue Hendon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, a cause close to Loyd's heart.
Loyd's love for Jesus gave him peace through the end, and his legacy of love, kindness, and integrity will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
