Mr. James E. Ragan's Obituary
RAGAN, James Enoch (“Lally” / “Bird Dog”), age 83, of Madison, passed away at home on March 24, 2019. He was born September 22, 1935 in Nashville. He was preceded in death by his parents G. L. and Nellie Allen Ragan and his wife of 52 years Betty Reece Ragan. He is survived by sons Ronnie and David Ragan and a host of family and friends. He loved to work in his yard and follow sports, especially Vanderbilt, the Atlanta Braves, the Tennessee Titans, and the Nashville Predators. He also loved his weekly trips to his favorite restaurants: Bar-b-cutie, Cal’s Country Kitchen, the Cracker Barrel, the Krystal, and Steak ’n Shake and those at each whom he considered a part of his extended family. A special thanks to Heidi and Nicole from the Madison Bar-b-cutie for their visits and the love shown him, until the end. A member of Parkway Baptist Church, he loved the Lord and cherished his church family, who called, came by, and offered their love and support in numerous ways. He also loved the Reece family into which he married and who were a part of his life for over 65 years. They showed him that a families ties aren’t always by blood, but by those whom you love and who love you in return. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Nashville, and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday, March 29th, at Parkway Baptist, Goodlettsville.
