Mr. James David Smith's Obituary
James D. Smith, age 88, of Hendersonville, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents Omer and Clara (Martin) Smith and sisters Jean Olsen, Pat Ellison, and Dot Slagle.
Mr. Smith was a long-time member and former deacon of Hendersonville Church of Christ. After he retired from Dupont, he spent his time traveling with his beloved wife and enjoying time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He will be remembered as a Christian man who loved his family and always had a smile on his face.
Survived by wife of 66 years, Millidean Smith, daughters Belinda (Larry) Bracey, Peggy (Ken) Gaines, and Vickie (Keith) Graham; grandchildren Doug (Erin) Harris and Terrilynne (Brian) Work; great-grandchildren Hannah Harris and Ericka Crook.
A private family service is being held. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center and Alive Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to American Diabetes Association or Alive Hospice.
