Mr. James Lee Timberlake's Obituary
James Lee Timberlake (Tim), 74, of Riddleton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
James was born in Riddleton, Tennessee on June 3, 1943. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Timberlake (Hamilton) on April 21, 1984. They were married for 33 years and from this the union was born two daughters.
Tim was a songwriter, enjoyed singing gospel songs, and was a member of The Johnson Ensemble for many years. He professed hope in Christ at an early age and was a Charter Member of Temple Church under the pastoral care of Michael Lee Graves and Dwight Drumwright.
He had a steady hand and enjoyed drawing, thus making him a detailed artist. He enjoyed being outdoors and seeing God’s Creation. His family remembers specifically, that Tim was a great cook.
James graduated from Turner High School and continued to receive a Bachelors of Music Degree at Tennessee A&I University (TSU). He worked as a Quality Insurance Inspector at Triumph Aerostructures/ Vought Aircraft for 42 years.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, William Odell and Ester Mae Haynie; he is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Ann Timberlake; son, Terrence Crowder, Mount Juliet, TN; daughters, Nicole Timberlake-Lynch (Andre), Nashville, TN; Andrea Timberlake, White House, TN; and Ashley Timberlake, White House, TN; host of half brothers and sisters; mother-in-law, Helen Hamilton; sister-in-law, Vickie Woodley; and devoted sister-in-law, Geneva Holland; brother-in-law, Samuel Hamilton; aunts, Annie (Anna) Frances Timberlake and Nancy Betty McCall (JD); and uncle, Alvin (Kate) Manning; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; three devoted cousins, Robert Key Timberlake, Darlene Carver McDonald, Katie Mae Harper; a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins; three devoted friends, Anna Broome, Claude “Skippy” Hobbs, and Joanna Carter.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 12 noon at Temple Church, 3810 Kings Lane, Nashville, Tennessee 37218 with Pastor Darrell Drumwright eulogizing. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 11AM until 12 noon at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
