Mr. James Edward Underwood's Obituary
James Edward Underwood, 75, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Born January 1, 1947, in Nashville, he was the son of the late Jordan William Underwood and Florence Helen Ledbetter Underwood.
Mr. Underwood and his wife, Judy, attended Hermitage United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Metro Nashville Police Department as a Detective following 34 years of service. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Judy Underwood; son Joe (Mary Spotswood) Underwood; stepson Kenny (Amy) Hudson; and 5 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Ceremony will take place at 11 AM Tuesday, June 7, in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. Anyone planning to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 2nd Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
