Mr. James H. "Jim" Witt's Obituary
Mr. James Harvel Witt, 85, of Nashville, TN. Born August 5, 1928 in Davidson County, TN passed away April 14, 2014. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ,,active in mission work in Russia and Brazil.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Smith Witt; parents, Joseph Lee and Eula Gibson Witt; his brothers, Joseph, Jr., Dick, Jack, Warrren, and Craig Witt; his sisters, Louise Hayes, Zelda Oaks, and Sarah Morton.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Ann (Newell) Pursell; his four children, Emily (Randy) Frey, Scott (Leanne) Witt, Donna Witt, and Alan (Alison) Witt; his six beloved grandchildren, Jereme (Brigid) Frey, Rea Frey (Alex) Holguin, Hayden Witt, Hannah Witt, Ashley Witt, and Alex Witt; his great granddaughter, Sophie Holguin; step great grandson, Taighe Elliott; several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00PM . Additional visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM with Russ Corley officiating. Burial will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Encouragement Ministries, P.O. Box 2082, Brentwood, TN 37024 or Alive Hospice, Inc., 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery.
