Mr. Jamie Durham's Obituary
James Roy “Ivan” Durham, age 47, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at The Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Jamie was born on November 25, 1969 in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert Marvin Durham and Peggie (Doremus) Sprouse.
LARPing was an important piece of Jamie’s life. The pursuit of goals within this fictional setting, while in character, brought him such joy. Those in his circle knew him as “Ivan Darkspeare”, which was as much his name and identity as Jamie. He was a master sword wielder and had an impressive collection of mid-evil armor. Another important aspect of his life was his love of Harley Davidson motorcycles; the rumble of an engine and the brotherhood that he found in his unit, represented a deep and meaningful piece of his life.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Jennifer Durham; daughters, Abby and Mackenzie; his mother, Peggie Sprouse (Tommy); his father, Robert Durham (Esparenza); brother, Robert Durham (Susan); sister, Patti Durham-Mabrey (Kenneth); step-sisters, Terri Rogers and Shelia Trigleth (Joshua). He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
