Mrs. John Thomas Benson III
Age 95, Born August 6th 1928, passed away September 20th 2023. Jane is preceded in death by her parents Peter A. Cartwright and Martha Hamilton Cartwright, her sister and brother in law Augusta and Rufus Allen, son-in law, David Vincent and her husband of 70 years John Thomas Benson III. She is survived by children, Ann Benson Vincent, John Benson IV (Pam), Joe Benson (Kathy) and Tricia Benson (Amy), 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jane is also survived by her two sister in laws, Eva Rogers and Carolyn Newton.
Jane and John moved to Hendersonville to be on the lake and they enjoyed boating together with family and friends for many years, she was a member of Hendersonville United Methodist Church and the Follower’s Sunday School Class. Jane was a homemaker, devoted and loving wife to her husband, always supporting him in everything he did. They loved boating and travel but Jane took great pleasure in working in her flower beds and enjoying the blooms they produced. Married for 70 years to John, Jane most of all loved her family and her many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jane’s memory.
Graveside service on Wednesday 9/27/2023 at 1:00 at Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216.
