Ms. Janel Watson Williams' Obituary
The family of Janel Williams announce her peaceful passing on the morning of August 18th, 2019.
Janel, age 84, lived each day of her life for Christ. She was well known for doing the kindest things in the kindest way. If Janel touched your life, you could be sure she kept in touch, loved you and prayed for you. She believed you should always follow your warm-hearted impulses.
Janel lived in middle Tennessee her entire life. She was valedictorian of the 1952 Trousdale County Highschool Sr. Class and she went on to work as a legal secretary for over 20 years. She also supported her husband, Ray, by keeping the books for his construction business. However, her most cherished roles were being a wife to her husband Ray and a mother to her daughter Tara.
Janel loved to travel. She and Tara enjoyed many motor coach tours together; visiting 49 of the 50 states. Janel had only one rule when traveling on these tours; if you had the window seat, you weren’t allowed to sleep – she didn’t want to miss a thing. Janel also loved to smile and laugh, and her bright grey eyes would light up whenever she saw family and friends.
Janel was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Ray Williams, and her sister Gretta Baty and is survived by her daughter Tara and her husband Anthony, her brother Raymon Watson, brother-in-law Jerry Baty, and many other loving relatives and close friends. Her friend, Woody Harris, lovingly cared for her in the last 2 years of her life. The family gives him their greatest and warmest gratitude.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 5PM to 7PM at the Spring Hill Funeral Home located at 5110 Gallatin Road, Madison, TN.
