Janet Laidlaw's Obituary
Janet Ellen (McLeese) Laidlaw, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2012. Predeceased by her husband of 43 years, John; brother, Donald McLeese; sister, Lois Frebault; granddaughter, Zenobia Laidlaw and nephew, Christopher Frebault. She is survived by children, Brian (Jonna), Karen, Elizabeth, and Bruce; sister, Carolyn (Charles) McLeese; Grandchildren Christopher Laidlaw, Zachery Laidlaw, Douglas Briggs, Kelsey Briggs, Daniel Johnson, Michelle Johnson, Yolanda Santana, Tabitha Turner, BJ Turner, Sally Laidlaw, Tyler Laidlaw, and Dylan Laidlaw; nine nieces and nephews and many life-long friends, including members of the Juliet Society. Janet, born in Detroit, Michigan, was a graduate of Sociology from Albion College (Michigan), and devoted volunteer to Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, The United Fund, Clintondale Schools, PTA, Church youth group adviser, FISH, Headstart, Meals on Wheels, Auburn (New York) Community Hospital, Volunteer reader to Children, the American Cancer Society and the American Legion. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10 at Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Humane Society www.humanesociety.org/kindredspirits in her memory.
