When I was a student at Haynes School, Mrs. Bates had me to carry messages from the office to other staff. She was always so kind with a beautiful smile.

My earliest memory of Ms Janie was when she was the secretary at Haynes Elementary. She knew my mom and would get me out of class to sit at her desk while she went on a lunch break. That was soooo special as I would come to know as I got older. I loved her dimples and she was always the best dressed woman around… sewing most of her own outfits. To Janie's family, you are in my prayers in the loss of such a sweet
woman who I had the honor of knowing for so many years. She was
my high school secretary at Haynes High and I worked with Janie
for 5 years at the Board of Education in the Human Resource Office
as well. We shared many good times and laughed with each other
in the office, she had a "great" sense of humor and we laughed
when we should have been working but it made the days go by.
She was a beautiful person always dressed from head to toe. I
will miss her and I am sure she will truly missed by the family
as well. Remember God's word that He will never leave you or
forsake you. May she take her rest in the arms of her Lord and
