Mrs. Jean Foster Grissim's Obituary
Jean Foster Grissim, age 83 of Nashville, TN passed away January 15, 2014. Mrs. Grissim was born in Lewisburg, TN on October 6, 1930 to Paul W. and Saydie Powell Foster.
Mrs. Grissim was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Joseph Michael Grissim.
She is survived by her sons, John Mitchell Grissim, Jr. and Jeffrey Matthew Grissim; daughter, Jeannie Marie Grissim; sister, Marian Foster Dent; grandchildren, Anna Maria Grissim, John Foster Grissim, Garrett Grissim and Christopher Joseph “C.J.” Grissim; nephews, Paul Foster Dent and Douglas Bryan Dent.
A celebration of Mrs. Grissim’s life will be conducted at 11 A.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the time of service Tuesday at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Paul Dent, Bryan Dent, Foster Grissim, Garrett Grissim, Christopher Joseph “C.J.” Grissim, Jim Thompson, Colin Parker and Derrick Thomas will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Health Center at Richland Place, 500 Elmington Avenue, Nashville, TN 37205 or to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, 1200 Forrest Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37205.
