Ms. Jean Clair McEwen's Obituary
Ms. Jean Clair McEwen, age 91 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. She was born on October 1, 1929 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Claude and Louise Wair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John McEwen and her daughter Teresa Stafford. She is survived by her daughters Wanda Gant and Lynn Clements, sister Judy Couch, brothers Jerry Wair and Claude Wair, and her grandchildren Brian Clements, Brent Clements (Vicki), Jason Gant (Nicole), Chris Gant (Samantha). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Chris Proctor, Chandler Gant, London Clements, Gavin Clements, Saxon Clements, Taylor Gant, Lauren Gant, Bella Gant, and Dash Gant.
Jean was very active and a hard worker. She worked as a Book Binder for Ambrose Print Company up into her late 70’s, and every single morning even until the week before her passing enjoyed her morning coffee and paper with her special cat T.T. in her lap. Jean was a precious, loving, and kind person who was always willing to help those around her. She was a loving mother to her daughters and a beloved “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking and always made everyone’s favorite foods for the special Sunday dinners she hosted in her home for her family. Jean also enjoyed gardening and always kept a gorgeous lawn full of beautiful flowers.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11am-2pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 2pm in the chapel with Les Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ms. McEwen’s loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
