Mrs. Jean Polk Pearcy's Obituary
Jean Pearcy passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019 . Born January 9, 1929, she shared her 90th birthday celebration with family and friends. Living in Nashville all her life, she was a 1949 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Jean spent over twenty-five years as a State of Tennessee employee and thirty years as a Sunday morning nursery caregiver at Westminster Church. In addition to loving her own family, Jean’s love for the children of others was boundless and there are many in Nashville and beyond who benefitted from her love. She will be remembered as one who was always kind and humble, placing the needs of others before her own.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Cunningham, who passed away November 7, 2018 and survived by children Anne (Wayne) Simmons, Bill (Donna) Pearcy, Sue Gross, Bob (Karen) Pearcy; son-in-law Roy Cunningham, five grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and sister Peggy (Bob) Motley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4-8PM and from 11AM until service time which will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Spring Hill Funeral Home, Madison, TN. Donations in her memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Westminster Fund at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Morningside of Belmont who loved and laughed with our mother for the past ten years.
