Jere Thomas Parkhurst, Sr., age 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Charlotte, Tennessee. Jere was born in Nashville, TN to the late Andrew Daniel and Lillie Mai (Deering) Parkhurst.
Jere served his country in the US Army and was the former owner/operator of Cayce Transfer Company. He was an avid baseball fan. He enjoyed listening to country music.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Julie Parkhurst; and 8 brothers and sisters..
Mr. Parkhurst is survived by sons; Jere Parkhurst, Jr., Joseph Parkhurst, Major Parkhurst and Daniel Parkhurst; daughter, Jeanne Parkhurst Collard; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sat.,, Aug. 12, 2017 at 10 am at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Fri. from 3 pm - 8 pm at the funeral home with an additional visitation on Sat. from 9 am -10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Daniel, Major, Jay, and Joey Parkhurst, and John Collard.
