Mr. Jerry L. Brown's Obituary
Jerry Lynn Brown, age 69, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2015. Jerry was born to the late Cicero and Myerl Brown in Maryville, TN on May 3, 1946. He was a loving son, husband, father, and friend to many.
His family recalls that Jerry was a wonderful husband and father. He provided well for them, being a truck driver for over 30 years. Even though he worked odd shifts, he was always home at night. Family was important to Jerry.
Jerry and his wife, Carolyn enjoyed getting together at McDonald’s with long-time friends every morning. Jerry always had a joke to share with the group as they ate and laughed and talked about whatever came up. Jerry had a lot of friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
Jerry was an animal lover, too. He had a dog named “Oreo,” and had even trained a squirrel by feeding it pieces of cornbread. He also liked to watch hummingbirds out the window.
God was important to Jerry, and he was an avid daily reader of the Bible. He read his Bible several times from cover-to-cover and loved the book too much to select one or two favorite passages. To him, the entire book was his favorite.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Brown; son, Dwayne Brown and his wife, Cassandra; sisters, Barbara Colvin and her husband, Earl and Elizabeth “Libby” Trent; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry’s family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2pm until 6pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Additional visitation will take place on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 11am until 12pm. Funeral services to honor Jerry will begin at 12pm on Monday, from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
