Jessie Midgett-Schutt's Obituary
Celebrating the Bold Spirit of Jessie Midgett-Schutt
February 23rd, 1983 – March 13th, 2026
Jessie was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and from the start she filled every room with laughter. Friends and family quickly learned that her direct nature came wrapped in warmth and an easy, outgoing confidence.
She loved a good story, whether it played out on episodes of The Walking Dead or Supernatural. Music of every style flowed through her days, and her playlist could jump from country to rock without warning, keeping everyone guessing and smiling.
Travel called to Jessie, and the Smoky Mountains were her favorite retreat. She soaked in the scenery, gathered new memories, and always returned home ready to share lively tales from the road.
Family stood at the center of her world. She shared life’s journey with her husband Michael Schutt and their children Destinee Ramsey, Desiree Soto, Jimmy Lee (Laney) Midgett, Nathan (Austin) Midgett, Camron Schutt, Amelia Schutt, Michael Schutt III, and Ethan Schutt. Jessie’s stories and unapologetic honesty will echo in their memories for years to come.
Grandchildren brought fresh joy to every visit: Sadie Midgett, Ella Ramsey, Lux Soto, Amela Soto, Aila Soto, Aiden Soto, and Acelia Soto.
She is also lovingly remembered by her adopted mother Sandy Vogel, siblings Chris Vogel, Jenny Crabtree, Roxanne Crabtree, Julian Brevik, and Hannah Brevik. Jessie was preceded in death by her late parents Michael Brevik and Judy Fleming.
Today we celebrate a life lived in rhythmic music, and fearless honesty. Jessie’s laughter and adventurous spirit stay with us, encouraging each of us to speak plainly, love deeply, and seize every road that leads to new views.
